The US Navy runs an Adopt-A-Ship program which places professional Culinarians in galleys on board ship and at ashore facilities.  The Culinarians provide Continuing Education to the Cook Specialists. 

In 2007 I was enventually able to start participating in the program.  America is a wonderful country and has been so good to me.  I am committed to giving something back to the country and I cannot think of a better way than to assist the men and women who serve in our Armed Forces.

In 2008 I was lucky to once again participate in the Adopt-A-Ship program.  I spent a week in the galley at the Dahlgren Surface Missile Base.  I had a great time with the galley crew.  A few photos from the trip:
